Statement of Faith
A Statement of Faith should be, one would think, a relatively simple document to formulate. However, it appears that a simple statement may become a very complicated work. And as we are, in the main, K.I.S.S. people (keep it simple, saints) we’ve pared it down to the bare essentials.
But we have supplied a caveat; if you wish to know our beliefs on any aspect of the Christian faith, please contact: faith@kinrosschristianfellowship.co.uk
However, for the basics, read on.
We believe the Bible to be God-breathed and therefore infallible.
We believe in God the Creator of heaven and earth, perfect in holiness, infinite in wisdom and measureless in power.
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe that God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16).
We believe in the atoning death, and resurrection, of the Lord Jesus Christ.
We believe the words of Jesus; “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me...” (John 14:6).
We believe in baptism by immersion in water of all believers as exemplified by our Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 3:13-17).
We believe in the ministries appointed by God (1 Corinthians 12:8 ff).
We believe in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. (Acts 8: 15 ff e.g.).
We believe in the gifts of the Spirit (1 Corinthians 12:4 ff).
We believe in the fruit of the Spirit (Galations 5: 22 ff).
And finally, we believe in the Great Commission of Matthew 28:18-20
Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Here, we think, we should draw a line because there is so much more we could say - yet probably the most significant belief of all is our first point: we believe the Bible to be God-breathed and therefore infallible. Once you have that, what more do you need?
